Looking for a power rig [70-90k]

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: 80% involving Animation tools and Internet based work. 15% Gaming 5% Movies. Planning on running all the games that I can get my hands on but I don't necessarily need all the clocks and bells enabled (Although it will be a plus). Applications are GPU and CPU heavy.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 70-90k Extendable to 100k at most.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: I would like that option open although I live in a place with hellish temperatures during summers. And unfortunately no AC.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: 7 Ultimate and then probably upgrade to 8.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 750GB /1 TB is more than enough but 7200 RPM preferred.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Planning on getting a Ultrasharp monitor from Dell 24".

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Not applicable.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: First or second week of March.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I did quite a lot on my school days but its been 5 years. So probably gonna try myself first and then gonna hire a assembler if needed.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Kolkata. Open to Online, Offline both.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Was planning to buy Alienware m18x but decided against it for the moment as my laptop is almost dead and I need a solution pronto.
Feel free to put your views and thoughts. Although I am new to the forum, I was a old regular digit reader. But as usual when you get business and work to do, time is scanty. Looking forward to fellow digitizers comments and configurations.

Well just a question...

the i7 supports memory of 1333 mhz right

so why is a memory of 2133mhz required??How does it improve performance??

Pls clarify as i used to think that it is the processor only that uses the ram......

This a config that is apt for your situation and scope of work. now ,I advised you Phantom NZXT only keeping in mind the Kolkata summers and the heat the components will produce. With a side fan the NZXT cools like no other cabinet in its category and beyond.

Buddy, you can use higher speed Rams like 1600 MHz and higher with unlocked Sandy Bridge Processors, having a default support of 1333 MHz. It is done by overclocking the Memory Controller's speed. The K series processors which can be overclocked, hence can adjust their Memory Controller's speed by reading the XMP profiles stored in the Memory module in use, to make it run at higher speed than 1333 MHz speed. This is done automatically without any manual adjustment. All you need to do is to plug the Memory in the Motherboard.

GTX660 SLI comes at same price as a single hd7970 and gives much better performance, so are SLI issues (microshuttering, scaling) have such a negative impact that one should avoid it for similar priced lower performance solution?

The Bus, the 660's memory bus will choke it to death once you hit a very high res+8x+aa levels.

And yes, SLI/CF is a big headache due to microstuttering, optimizations issues, negative scaling bug etc etc, sometimes it takes games 3-5 months to bring SLI/CF support.

Thanks a lot for your help. I was doing some research and have some questions.

What about The Maximus Formula board? And the processor is good. Also I need water cooling as well.
As for cabinets I can go higher till 12k to get one that keeps the components cool.

Also what do you guys think about the GTX 680 Graphics? Costs a bit more but I dont plan on Sli so it should work for me for 1-2 years. Monitor 22' or 24' both are fine with me.

Mouse and keyboard are not needed as I am planning to get some good ones later.

Need Really good ram as well. So don't hold back. From what I saw in the threads the Gskill ones are quite good I suppose. Anyway I leave that to you guys.
Also It seems I need to increase the budget although I will have to wait 1 extra week then. The current budget is 120k extendable to 130k. And this is the last limit.

BOUGHT ALREADY:

1x Set of Screwdriver with 32pc heads.
1x Artic Silver 5.

Any advices guys? Also is nxzt phantom better than CM storm trooper?
Depends upon user choice, I love the phantom, you can get either one, for top cases like these temps do not vary much, so whatever floats your boat.

So should gtx680, i7 3770, M5F sound good? Also which ram is better for this configuration? Gskill or corsair one? As long as it plays dink Smallwood at full eye candy I am happy:D

Forgot to ask a out smps as well. Please suggest a good one for this configuration. I won't be doing Sli and will use single graphics card.

Yes, I did see it. I am just modifying it a bit. I was thinking of getting Maximum 5 Formula as I got a good deal for it at 18k.
Will the ram work with it? Also is the seasonic one good? Or should I get a Coolermaster or Corsair?

@Cilus

Observation : First for me to see you suggesting intel i7 K series over FX8350, where multi core is a factor, even ocing may be. Any specific reason for this change?
