Mods...sorry but I just can't stop laughing at the Linux & Mac users here who claim "Vista/XP/IE is loosing ground" :p

From the same source

Internet Explorer 6.0 48.88%
Firefox 2.0 14.65%

And now - *www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php

Internet Explorer 6.0 47.01%
Firefox 2.0 17.51%

Now, eventhough the difference is small, who is gaining ? and whos losing ? ;)

Also, it worth having a look at

To see which browser is losing / gaining ...

The stats are actually correct. I have seen Webstats of very popular and same type of results.

Most linux users still have Windows on their PC and yes i said MOST and not all :)

Some might say...server might have recognised different Linux Distro properly....remember most SERVERS run on Linux inclusing mine and they do recognize linux users very properly ;)

@piyush gupta

IE 6 losing, IE 7 gaining

FF 1.5 losing, FF 2.0 gaining

When a new ver browser comes and when people think its better, naturally it gains.

In that case, no losing for any.

And somebody mentioned servers ?

Heres some stats too

Apache 18,166,994 73.52%
Microsoft 4,851,577 19.63%

More Here ..

So instaed of the lin-win fight Let win rule the desktop and let Lin rule the server ;) I mean for the time being ...

@Choto Cheeta

I have several websites and I absolutely agree people using win and IE and more than people using lin or FF

But considering the %, both IE 7 and FF 2 are gaining, so no point in telling some lose ground.

Is this rigged or something? No Opera.. and how did Firefox get so popular, Opera is a much better browser.

 Macboy
29.00% Firefox 2.0.0
38.00% MSIE 6.0
16.00% MSIE 7.0
11.00% Safari
and the rest make the up remaining..(including some older versions of Firefox and Safari)

System Stats:
65.00% Windows XP
15.00% Windows Vista
13.00% Mac OS X

I guess there would be more OS X users on a macboys blog!

Yo !! Way to go Firefox !!!! Its rapidly gaining popularity !!! :) :)

About Opera, isn't "identify as internet explorer" is default setting ?? If it is, then maybe, Opera gets reported as IE to tracking web-sites in maximum cases..... :? I am not so sure about this. Can somebdy clarify more .... !!!!

You gave been GXified
Firefox has become a thick code & high on system resources. I also prefer Opera but the thing is there are some features I like which are there only in IE or Firefox & so far I haven't been able to give them in Opera.
