Are u facing the problem just when u r on battery or even when u r plugged in?
If it's only in the former case then ur battery is the culprit.

Since you have already tried clean installs of atleast 3 OSes and it hasnt helped, the problem is most likely with the hardware. Try these things, preferably in the same order.

1) Check for heating troubles
2) Check the battery issue
3) Check the RAM. Use memtest (from any ubuntu live disk)
4) Check the HDD for bad sectors (a simple chkdsk from inside windows)
5) Update BIOS if any new versions are out (only from the HP site)
6) If none of these works call HP Customer care.

IMO looks like a case of bad sectors in the HDD.
And btw memtest and chkdsk is going to take some time. patience.

Is your laptop new? and how long since this problem appeared?

Either your Battery has gone Kaput and you need to buy new one

OR

It's because of Over Heating and you need to buy a Cooling Pad for your Laptop

Does it gracefully shutdown, or just powers off. And blank screen. Check temperatures.
