Laptop HDD in Desktop ?

Eager to learn.
Hello guys,

I have ordered my new config. (Suggested by TDF members only.) :)
I have a 320GB SATA 2.5 inch laptop hard disk, which I want to use in my desktop.
Can I install it directly in a Desktop or do I need some sort of SATA 2.5 to 3.5 adapter ?

I have read many people saying that there is no need for any extra cable or adapter, but some are saying that if one use it directly, then it can kill the hard disk.

What do you suggest guys ?
Is anyone here using laptop hard disk in their desktop ?

Treatment in progress...
imho...u need the 2.5 to 3.5 adapter just to attach the laptop hdd to the standard(3.5") cabinet HDD brackets...

The same SATA and Power cables are used imo...

lets see what others have to say
