Cause, it is not possible. By default DX10 comes with win 7.

Click Start, in the search box, type dxdiag.. press enter.. click on Display Tab

DXdiag works on win 8 ?? anyway, Op can do this
Right Click on Desktop > Personalize > Display > Change Display Settings > Advance Settings > Adapter tab and there Op will get all the infos he needs.

somewhat similar but needs less clicking - most probably Properties ( right click on desktop ) > Advanced ( the resolution setting tab ) and from there click on Advance/Adapter - for exact path wait a day or wait for some member to answer or better find it yourself - it's not that hard to find

Yes, dxdiag does work on Windows 8.
^^ can't say why but for me it did not work .. using a upgraded win8 x64.
