Right off the assembly line
hi,

i have recently got this new system with Intel DG33FB mobo with Intel E6550 2.33GHZ CPU with 2GB transcend 667MHZ with 500GB SATA seagate and 450W VIP SMPS..

now the issue is that ever since i have build this config back in december i am having heating issues...

the following are my temps....

mobo temp 47*c
cpu temp 45*c
ICH temp 95*c
MCH temp 67*c
CPU FAN 960 RPM

besides the cpu fan and the smps fan there are 3 additional fans which dont show up in the intel desktop utility as well as the BIOS..

all the other fans are doing fine....

i hope someone can give me a solution as to what can i do to keep the ICH cool on this system

CPU FAN 960 RPM

Dude your cpu fan is running at a very low speed . It should be atleast 2500rpm.

Open your cabinet & see if anyhing is blocking your cpu fan. Also try changing your cabinet fan's direction.

hi,

thanks for replying guys....

1. ICH means i/o controller hub
2. MCH means memory controller hub
3. the CPU fan is doing fine as this mobo automatically adfusts the fan speed accordingly with the heat...

No pain....No gain
Temps are on a higher side but is it the idle or load temps? If you are getting the readings from the BIOS then also try using everest and get the temps and fans RPM.
Sometimes the sensors give wrong reading.

Use Intel Desktop utilities to check the real tempErature. Could be the sensor broken

CPU is fine, if it is on lite load.

hi,

guys thanks for replying.....

now a couple of things have happened since i originally posted here...

i have visited intels website and gone ahead and downloaded the latest version of the BIOS and installed it. i downloaded the express setup which can be run from windows and upon reboot updates the BIOS.

i have mentioned all the temps using the intel desktop utility and the BIOS which have shown the same temps and these are idle temps.

after updating the BIOS this is the change observed.....

1. cpu temprature 45*c
2. mobo temprature 47*c
3. ich temprature 73*c
4. mch temprature 67*c
5. cpu fan 955RPM

now in the BIOS on the hardware monitor page it also says that please note the mch temprature maybe shown as 67*c which could be indeed lower then what is beeing indicated.

there is one more thing i am unable to understand, in the night when i turn on the air conditioning in my room, the cpu goes down to 38*c, mobo goes down to 41*c, ich goes down to 66*c and mch ramains the same at 67*c and the cpu falls to 940RPM

hope someone can help me out once again understanding all this thats happening with my system...

^^^ Don't worry, the temprature sensor looks broken, u don't have to worry about anything. My motherboard shows to run at even high temprature :D
