Hello frnds.
i am in trouble.. plzzzzz. help me.

my problem is .. from my yahoo accont ,mails with attachment are going automatically. an i got many compalint frm my frnds on this. i have macafee installed. after enablin e mail hawk . getting messeaeges from macafee saying that " the mail send previously is virus effected and do you want to send a notice to the previous address. all the mails address is from my address book. still the problem. and one of my frnd got mail, was dated 2004 dec. what is the real problem? is its is virus. the antivirus is installed before this. but no notification i got on any virus in my system. the mechine is always connected to internet . i am working on windows 2000 proffetional, and is networked too. no other mechine have this problem. if it is virus how can i find the location status.

By the symptoms, it appears to be a mass mailing worm. Have you integrated Yahoo with Outlook?

Anyway, try running Stinger 2.4.3. Get it from:

*vil.nai.com/vil/stinger

It is <1 mb tool to clean most rampant worms/Trojans.

Yes it is Virus.....

it uses it own SMTP engine to send email to all the email addressess found in you computer

First of all yes it is a virus. Second I dont think ur system is infected. If someone is getting an email from you doesnt mean it is necessarily you. It could sent via an anonymous emailers. Programs can be written for such things. This is something which is not in ur control. The virus ihas been doing the rounds for a while. I still get it in my bulk mail with subjects such as Re: Hello and Re:Your document and so on.... Just to be on the safer side update ur AV defs and run the whole AV on ur system.

yes i am using the outlook but yahoo address is not configured. using spy amc address. but there is no entries in spymac address book

I too have something like it . I get a mail from my own mail ID that i`m using 90% of the total Y! storage . while i`m using only 5-6%
