Is it safe to keep laptop for more than 9 hrs on standby ?

Hi,


I am using laptop daily for business presentations (one to one), to avoid the boot-up time of XP,

i normally keep the system in "standby"- mode, just before reaching the client premise,
i just want to know .....

(1) Can i keep it on "standby" mode during all my working hours (9 hrs daily)
(2) Normally i keep inside the laptop bag on standby mode - is ok?
(3) By this practice will i loose my data?

Well, I dont have a laptop... but I have a suggestion....

Load the presentation and then Hibernate the laptop, if possible. Restoring from a hibernate doesnt take as much time as boot up. Its definitely faster. And your presentation will be ready to use when needed.
