Is it possible to lock external HDD ?

Friends, I recently bought an external 400GB SATA HDD with a case. When connected to a computer it shows itself as an USB mass storage device so anybody can plug it in and use. Now, is it possible that I can somehow prevent others from accessing it while I am away ?

You can use a drive and folder locking tool like folder lock

I use folder lock, but the files are visible in linux and only a single folder named "Locker" can be locked in case of USB drive..
