Is it okay to buy Acer 4520? In Siliguri?

WTF? Doesnt anyone know where to get it in Siliguri??

@bassam904; If I am right; the Acer 4520 supports a maximum of 2GB only.
Acer Aspire 4530; newer model with 9100M Gfx; supports a maximum of 4GB.

Anyone know something about the new 4530? It still has to make appreciable appearance in the market... Why I am shifting the choice is because 4520 is getting outdated. And the product has been dicontinued..

Buddies.. I am too in hunt of a budget yet good Lappy.. well.. acer 4520 seems to be old and I was unable to spot 4530 even on acer india website but seems good choice with 9100M nvidia which supports direct X 10.

Btw.. looking around internet.. the battery stands for 2-2.5 hrs for this Lappy!
So dilemma deepens further..

This laptop; 4520 and 4530 are laptops which provide agreeable performance at a good price. Battery is their weak point.

I checked out the Acer Mall here 2day....The 4520 is getting out of stock and will be soon unavailable...It costs 30k here...

However, better option is 2 go for Acer 4530 which I checked out....It really looks wow and and has a better powered Nvidia chipset..It is available at 31k...

And as for 4530; I'd love to go for it. But it has not-so-good linux support. And I intend to use Linux as well. Is the price of 31k inclusive of Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium? Please; I wanna be through with this...

What are you using it for? Only surfing the net with no audio and low screen brightness can fetch you such a figure for battery. If you couple it with music at medium volume and some moview playback. 2hr15min is what you'll most likely get.

The price that I have quoted is from an Acer Mall in Amritsar...The linux OS is included both in 4520 and 4530 but if u want Vista, the vendor will install it and give as it is not included in the package.

This depends...U will have 2 bargain from where u buy 2 get a gud price...I bargained a lot and the mall vendor gave me the last & final price of 31k for 4530 and 30k 4 4520..

How? Share me the secret. Mine does'nt last beyond 1.5 hour.

Another problem with this laptop is the heating, you don't want this to be on your lap unless you want your b@lls to be fried.

This depends...U will have 2 bargain from where u buy 2 get a gud price...I bargained a lot and the mall vendor gave me the last & final price of 31k for 4530 and 30k 4 4520..

Both 1 GB RAM models? Acer 4520 is hell expensive if thats true.

4520 is much more verasatile that 4530. Has 4 USB ports, Firewire, 5.1 sound, S/PDIF, Infrared, Dolby Certified Stereo Speakers. Which the 4530 lacks. Not that they are deal breakers but they are a good-addon.
But 4530 has the newer IGP which is much more powerful than what 4520 has. And what I really like is that 1080p content would flow on 4530 whereas 4520 will barely play 1080p VC-1.

Well, all want decent Value for Money lappy..
Its not necessary that we want to go with 4530 or 4520 only, if there is any other laptop good enough then can go for it.
