iPod Query

I have recently formatted my laptop.
I had numerous songs and had a library on iTunes, but after the formatting there aren't any songs left on the Laptop but they are still on my iPod.
Now I have to update my iPod with new songs.

I fear that all my songs currently on the iPod will be erased if I update the iPod through iTunes.

Is their a turnaround to avoid removal of songs from the iPod while updating the iPod with new songs.

Hey buddy download a freeware called idump. Google for it. It'll help u retrieve songs from the ipod back onto the pc. Once u do that reinstall iTunes n add the retrieved songs as well as any new songs n sync the ipod. If u cannot find the s/w pm me.

or manually sync your ipod with itunes.

with this, nothing on your pod gets deleted...

You cant start apple-bashing here before an ipod owner...
