You need to make a partition if u do manually and Assign the partition the name "/" root without quotes.also you need to make a swap partition of 700MB or higher.you can do all this by using SPACE,ALT,TAB,ENTER keys if u uses a command line install from live cd.

i have already used ubuntu 5.10 .... there it works fine n detects my partition .... only problem with 6.10......... i don't think there is much difference in installing 5.10 and 6.10........ and as i have posted few days back, i experienced problem in gparted while installing 6.06 LTS.It got struck there........ why i'm not able to upgrade my ubuntu...... maybe this is the seventh time i'm trying to upgrade my ubuntu 5.10... every time i'm facing different problems......i also tried with diff methods to upgrade my ubuntu 5.10..... but 5.10 works fine in my pc?? watz happening with me??
