Android 10 is not that good, you get new features but you may not like it. I hope Android R will not disappoint.
Downgrading to Android 9 seems good option for blocking ads.
AdAway was working fine on Android 9 for in app ads for YouTube but in Android 10 YouTube ads are aggressive.

I "think" it has to do with the oems/os. I have also not seen those kinda ads in my oneui. Yt in my friends phone is full of it. They are using bugplus, oppo and stuff. I might be wrong.

2 more things: These ads seem to only appear on youtube app. Can people confirm this ? Second: As someone who searches for ahem SFW images. As in non-nude stuff on google Images, I can say that google algorithms are extremely extremely good at identifying NSFW from sfw images. I still feel its unlikely for such ads to slip google. Modded apps, comprised OS, are my prime suspects. Who knows it may have come modified from the store..
@TigerKing I saw your deleted post so your idea does seem probable. Jio is no doubt used in a major way for watching pron so maybe google algorithm is tailoring ads depending on accessing network behaviour. I don't have a jio connection to test but I checked with local cable isp & airtel 4g with no difference in ads(aka no inappropriate ads).

Yes.
I was checking ads on wifi and mobile internet.
But I already installed AdAway, so deleted the post.
Surprisingly from 2 days I was not getting any new dating app ads. Only 1 banner ad on top of homepage on YouTube app.
I think those inappropriate ads appearing because I flashed new ROM a week back and set Google account.
It's just confusing.
Maybe AdAway not updating host or something wrong with the list etc etc.
