It depends a lot on locality. I get "obscene" ads too sometimes in home town.

I have two permanent solutions:
1. Use an ad blocker such as Blokada (for non-root phones) or AdAway (for rooted phones).
2. Use an alternative youtube app such as Newpipe or Skytube. I personally use Newpipe.

They won't do shit. People in other forums are reporting banners which will make all banners posted here look like saints.
I doubt that it has to do something with location. Check xda or other sites people are getting these ads almost everywhere in India.
Tell me how do you get these ads because when I open youtube app all I see is usual ads between video playing.

These must be due to some sort of malware / adware / modified apk / modified android OS or something. IMO There is very little chance this is google's doing.

No, it is because of the ad provider itself. Desperate people who've never been on the internet are trying to find stuff on youtube. This creates an opportunity to push such ads and these in turn affects everyone with an Indian IP address.

sorry but adaway does not suppress in app ads. And blokada will be heavy on battery usage due to vpn network. Instead buying vpn seems better choice.
I have adaway which does not block YouTube ads.
Surprisingly, I also got those dating aps ad when I reset device (clean flash).
What I did was simply reset add personalization.
Setting>Google>ads

But I am not seeing any such ads in youtube app(though I use it rarely).

On Android 9, I used to see less ads to no ads on YouTube with "adaway". Something is not right with Android 10 or maybe YouTube version.. don't know
May be as I am using android 9 & haven't updated youtube app in last 1-2 months.

A new phone, with a new google account created with a new jio sim. Check other forums those porno ads are normal in YT.
Check my previous posts, I am not seeing such ads on android 9 & 1-2 months old youtube app with no anti-ad app installed.

AdAway uses a patched hosts file to block and domains. This it needs to be updated from time to time as as domains change. That's probably what's happening. Otherwise, AdAway blocks all ads including the banner ads in apps and YouTube video ads.

Nothing like 18+, I just opened youtube app & then scroll down the home screen for a minute with maybe 1 ad & rest all were video suggestions.
