Isn't that what I just mentioned in my post???
If I enable clear type using this method, it enables cleartype for my whole computer & UI. Now HTML in firefox looks better, but rest of the text in any application looks bad in my CRT Monitor, cos ClearType isn't exectly made for CRT Monitor.
If I disable system wide cleartype then firefox's text looks crap.
IE 7/8 or Safari 3 is better then Firefox in this regard. They have there own clear type engine independent of the OS settings.
At least this is what I expected in firefox 3. Now don't say "Upgrade to LCD" or "How many people use CRT Now??"
Here is the screenshot of this very page in both Firefox 3 latest nightly built & IE 8 beta. Just look at how bad the text looks in firefox. Cleartype is disabled from system control panel, & IE 8 is set to use cleartype for HTML
