IE shuts off automatically

Hello,
I have this weird trojan/virus in my system. I am not able to install any antivirus, anti spyware software in my system. Not even HijackThis can be installed. Whenever I run their setup, nothing happens. Also when I search for antivirus in IE, IE automatically shuts off. Firefox is not opening up too even after many reinstalls.
My sytem has XP pro with SP2. Please help

I think that your Windows Installation is corrupt.
Back up all data and reinstall Your OS.
