Hey buddies, need your opinion/advise on issue regarding IDE to SATA converter.

I have mobo ASUS A7V8X-MX and chipset VIA VT8378 KM400. had problem with the HHD and i think of purchasing SATA HHD but i don't have SATA features on my mobo. I want to use IDE to SATA converter.
Is it possible that i can boot OS through IDE to SATA converter? and which SATA HHD should i buy?

Yes there are converters available out there buy thery aren't very effective. I got one which fits into IDE port but it doesn't detects drives over 137gb. If you have to connect drives over 137gb you should buy PCI to SATA converter which is a good deal.

here pci sata card are available for some 500 bucks.
