Today many beta versions of a new generation of Windows Live software designed for your Windows PC that makes it easier than ever to get connected to Windows Live or other services are going to be released. This suite of software includes e-mail (Windows Live Mail), photo sharing (Windows Live Photo Gallery), a great publishing tool that lets you post directly to your blog (Windows Live Writer), parental controls (Windows Live OneCare Family Safety), a new version of Windows Live Messenger (8.5), and many more all bundled in a single suite. You’ll be able to install the entire suite of these downloadable Windows Live services at one time, from one place, instead of going through separate installations for each service. *techtoday.110mb.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/windows-live-thumb.jpg
This suite will be available in few hours.Just keep on popping out at *get.live.com/wl/all (this page will be updated in the next few hours, depending on where you live) to download as soon as it is released and we will also get U updated about it’s release.

It is available!!
We have new builds of Live Messenger, Live Mail and Live Photo Gallery.

What all i gathered in the first reactions, Live Mails seems to be moving to become an even excellent product, it already is feature packed. They have improved so many more features.

Even photo gallery has been provided with new and useful features. The first beta was a bit lackluster for me.

Messenger has seen more of bug fixes than feature additions.

The new "Windows Live Mail" is damn cool. I installed it and was totally amazed by the new look and features. Some of them are as follows:

1. The first thing which you'll notice is "Font". It has "Segoe UI" font as default font. Which is a nice move.

2. The toolbar doesnt take lots of space now in "Vista Basic" and "Windows Classic" themes.

3. "Hide Menubar" option works now in Basic and Classic themes.

4. Toolbar is customizable now. You can add/remove buttons. Thats an appreciative move.

5. New Layout option to change some basic things.

6. The best thing! Message Alert is BACK... Now you can hear a sound when new mail is received.

7. Menus match with Vista. No more classic menus.

I'm very much pleased by this new release and I appreciate that they listened all suggestions and complaints and worked on them. Kudos to WLM Team. :)

New addons are nice, I don't use Windows Photo Gallery so didn't install it. Just installed Live Messenger & Live Mail Desktop. Live Mail Desktop is soooooo cool now, i m thinking of ditching outlook now :p...oh well, Outlook is still powerful.

Live Messenger, hmm...whats new? Its less glossy though.

For those who are wondering where the new unified installer saves all the download should check the folder,

C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

you will find two big file over 10 MB with strange name. They are actually cab files. Backup these somewhere else. Next time when u want to install, simply save tha files back without changing its name, connect to net & run the installer, the installer will find that the files are already there & will not re-download.
