Huawei Ascend Y300 OR Nokia Lumia 520

Ok. I know this will be like comparing apples with oranges. But, I am considering to buy a smartphone under 9K and these are the two options I have zeroed in. Not interested in buying the local brands like Micromax, XOLO, Karbonn etc.

This will pretty much be my first smartphone. And my primary use would be browsing FB/Twitter etc, Skype Chat[No Video Call] and listening to music. Games and camera aren't that big priority. So, which one do you lot reckon would be better for me? Huawei Ascend Y300 OR Nokia Lumia 520?

Your best bet would be Nokia Lumia 520. The perfect for Your need IMO.

Generally WP8 is better than any Android within 10 - 12k. I'd suggest 520.

My vote goes for Y300.. It may not be as fluid as the lumia but it has some good features as well.. like camera flash, IPS display and JB out of the box, even has front camera ..
Only con is No 720p recording
I gifted my cousin a huawei Y300 some months back and he's loving it

Below 10k another option now due to price cuts is Samsung Galaxy S Duos, available for Rs. 9269 on flipkart.
Its has a 1Ghz single core processor but 786MB RAM, but has only ICS officially. There is a jelly bean cyanogen mod available though.

1ghz single core a5 processor tends to be laggy(really laggy), no amount of ram can help it....

BTW, I am thinking of getting it from Snapdeal because they have it for lesser than Flipkart. Almost more than 600-700 bucks. There are other sellers who are offering it for a lesser price but WS Retail can deliver products in my location. So, should I order it from Snapdeal? I will be using CoD mode of payment obviously.
