Hmmm, Since u can't connect to internet also then check ur ethernet wire! Get a new crossover ethernet wire and then try!

Ok one question do I need to have static IP over each system in my network for Samba ?

I dunno much about samba....will explore it when I'll replace my dieing PC. But for LAN configuration static IP is usually the way. So go for it!
