How to stop data access in samsung galaxy pro

I baught this new android phone samsung galaxy pro b7510 few days back. Since then it has been accesing data and eating my prepaid talktime. Every now and then it shows last call 10 paisa, 20 paisa etc whereas I am not making any voice calls or using net. I use net with wifi. I have stopped all the background synchronising still it accesses some data.

Please help me how to stop it. I am using android for the first time.

Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Network > Uncheck "Use Packet Data".

Second option is press and hold power button, if you see the Phone Option then there may be a "Data Network Mode" option, select that and that should disable the data access.

isn't there a shortcut in the dropdown status bar to control data access? or make a shortcut in power control.

nope, not in my knowledge. Whatever Charan has said are two ways.
