Legen-wait for it-dary!
Windows 98 doesnt use NTLDR... You must have attempted to uppgrade or install a NT based OS.

try

To correct the problem, the user must boot the computer with a Windows 95 or 98 Startup diskette or another bootable diskette with sys.com on it. Then, at the "A:\>" prompt, type "sys c:" and press "enter." A "System Transferred" prompt should appear and then the user must reboot the computer without the diskette.

or next option is clear your CMOS, either via the BIOS or by removing the battery. That should do it.

^^ Remove the CMOS battery from the Board for some time or use the Jumper on the mobo to clear the BIOS info !

I remember using Hiren Boot Disk for doin away with that error !!

 cmos battery is founf on the mother board, and it is a button type battery, remove it carefully from thr latch, else you break the latch.
