How to replace external memory card from 2 GB to 16GB

I recently bought a 16 GB Micro SD Card for my LG Optimus Net. How can I ensure that I replace my existing 2 GB Memory card with this one without losing any of the android settings. For example some apps maybe installed. Also how do I format the memory card so that I can move the application from Phone memory to SD Card. I think there is something called S2D. I'm not talking about android apps using which we can move the app to SD Card.

You can use Titanium backup app, to backup all the system and user data+settings. :-D:-D

I think Titanium back up is a paid app right?
simply copy the content to pc. plug in the 16GB card. restore and restart mobile.
Sam so you are saying that I can copy whatever contents that are there currently on my 2 GB SD Card to PC and then later just do a normal copy of the same data from PC to the 16 GB card. I would need no software at all.

Also I remember someone discussing about formatting the SD Card in such a way so that we can use apps which are moved to SD Card. Normally if we move the apps from Phone memory to SD card we can't use them.

free as well as paid. and it'll only add extra hassle.

yes :)
i have done same when upgrading my mobile memory card. worked perfectly fine.

didn't get what you said. better plug the memory card to mobile and let it create a few folders and then restore the folders/files and replace existing ones.
in android all apps transferred to sd card are stored in Android_Secure. Backing that folder should work fine.

@sam. It's like this suppose I have app like Color Note which I move to SD Card to save memory on my phone memory then I can't use this app unless I move this to Phone memory. I remember Vyom or someone suggested that the SD Card needs to be formatted in ext3 or something so that when I move the app say color note in this case to SD Card I still can use it

ext3? only if you partition the sd card. i have most of the apps in memory card (those that can be transferred) and have not partitioned so i can use any app just fine.

Sorry for the late reply Sam. But I think we can't use widget if the app is on SD Card. Any work around for this? If we have more than couple of widgets I don't think we can have all of these on phone memory.
