how to change ipod nano

Hello,
I recently purchased a apple ipod nano . I can add and remove songs only using apple itunes .it is not recognizing songs added otherwise directly through explorer . how can i add songs to the ipod wihtout using itunes.

IMO iTunes is fastest for iPods

Apple has made sure that iPod users won't be able to use windows explorer to add songs to their iPods. If you open your iPod in windows explorer as removable storage, you can see all your songs in a hidden folder. But the songs will be renamed with some gibberish names.The only way to identify songs is throught the mp3 tags. Use iTunes, you may not like it, but it has a lot of features, such as Gapless Playback and updating the software in your iPod.
