Hi! Guys, I recently installed UBUNTU on my E: which was completely formatted and no longer appears in my WINDOWS EXPLORER in my WIN XP. Now, there is some problem with UBUNTU which I haven't been able to sort out, you can find the problem here: *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16850
So, now I wish to uninstall it and try a new LINUX DISTRO the SUSE. So, how do I uninstall UBUNTU and install SuSE on my E: (or hda6)

Simply put in SuSe CD boot using it, and while the Installation, when Partitioning process comes, you select the Manual editing of Partition table or Manual Partitioning and choose the Ubuntu's Swap Partition and Ubuntu's Root (\) Partition for corresponding partitions for SuSe.
The existing Linux Swap will be displayed as Swap and existing Linux Root (having icon \) will have Ext3 File System.

Walking, since 2004.
or u can just configure suse to use the existing linux partitions.... and it'll use the ubuntu partitions automatically :)

as suse is red hat based, it may have problems with auto-allocation.. in that case create one ext3 partition(type 82) with the mount point /

also creare one type 83 swap partition with the thumb rule that the swap partition shud be twice the amount of ram in ur machine...

Yes, do exactly as swatkat says, just make sure to format both the linux partitions during partitioning. Also, the linux root partition would be depicted with a forward slash (/) :)

You can also Open the partition manager of Windows XP and under your drive you will see the Linux space as unpartitioned...

Just convert it to a logical drive...
