Well, first of all my friend asked me to get config for 25k but then I did all permutations n calculations :p n came to know he will have to compromise a lot n then told him that he will have to raise a budget a bit n then he raised it to 30k

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: AutoCAD Maya 3D, n casual gaming sometimes (he's not game freak)

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 30k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: nope

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: at least 500 GB (1TB if it fits in budget)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: already have

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Monitor

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: asap (may be this week only)

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: will assemble it for him

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: mumbai..locally / online anyhow..not a problem.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:

For your information, if you are planning for a graphic low end rig; You really need a GPU for editing and RAM 8GB (4x2) for speed.

Just a suggestion, maybe you could add 2 sticks of 4Gb RAM. if you run 2 RAM sticks, you will be running memory in dual channel which will be a greater increase in performance than running a single stick in single channel.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: at least 500 GB (1TB if it fits in budget)

For HDD part, I would advise you go with the WD Blue 1TB and normal storage. I believe, there is no much price difference between both models.

Hope it helps.

If the PC is strictly for productivity purposes, get an AMD FirePro or Nvidia Quadro series of GPU cards, since these are more optimized for CAD and 3D modelling software than other cards that are more geared towards gamers.

Thanks for replying.. If I add gpu, i'll need to stick with i3 instead of i5 + cheap cabby (not a priority)
i agree with 2 sticks of RAM.. but that goes for 4k instead of 3.4k for single 8gb stick..budget is tight.. lesse if i can add at the end... will surely do that later..

compromised on i5 + cabinet.. how about this now??

which is under 7k? thanks for replying.. n quadro series is costlier...m not expert but as i can see m getting 1gb memory n ddr3 for 8k whereas zotac gt 730 2gb ddr5 is for 6k...confused..

I strongly suggest you to ask about your cpu/gpu choices on autocad maya forums.they will be able to tell you clearly based on the kind of work you do(rendering engine, complexity level etc) if it is worth sacrificing i5 to get a gt730.
