Home PC in 35-40k range but with some unique requirements

p2383

Right off the assembly line
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Mainly surfing net, watching High definition videos and movies and educational stuff for kid.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:35k, extendible to 40k.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Win 8.1 64 bit but must be upgradable to Win 10

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:1 TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:Yes - Looking for a Matte finish monitor of 21.5/22 inch size.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: UPS and speakers

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Next couple of weeks.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Plan to do it via assembler at reputed shop in Nehru place Delhi (SMC/Empire etc.)

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Delhi NCR. Not open to online buying. Unless very much inevitable.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:
So my unique requirements:

1) Mobo and monitor both should have HDMI ports
2) Monitor should be Matte finish.
3) Room does not have AC, so AMD options can be avoided.
4) Don't mind onboard graphics.

Kindly suggest.

Thanks :)

Your budget is too high as per your requirements.:|

Intel Based Config:
Processor: Intel i3 4150 @7,500
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-H81M-S2PV H81 @4,230 (NO HDMI :| )

AMD Based Config:

Processor AMD FX 4300 @5,600
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 @4,400

Common for both:
Memory: Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 4 GB 1600 MHz @2,700
Power Supply: Antec BP300 @2,200
Graphics Card Zotac GT 730 1 GB DDR5 @4,900
Cabinet: Any local cabinet without PSU @900
Internal Storage: WD Blue 1TB 7200 RPM HDD @4300
Optical Drive: Asus DRW 24B3ST DVD R/W @1,000
Monitor: LG 22MP55HQ (as suggested above by rish1) @9400
Keyboard& Mouse: Logitech MK200 Keyboard & Mouse Combo @750

I don't know who told you that you'll require AC to use with AMD based PCs
Don't skip the GPU.

Both of these are a slightly modified version of the config in harshilsharma63's guide *www.digit.in/forum/pc-components-c...c-buying-guide-suggested-configs-2015-q1.html

Thanks for that info,SaiyanGoku.

Regarding Mobo, do you have a recommendation of Mobo with HDMI port?
Sorry for naive question, but won't i have issues running full Hd content without using HDMI port of monitor (connected to HDMI port on Mobo) ?

Regarding AMD part, well i used to have an AMD config way back, it used to heat up like anything. But not sure of today's generation of AMD processors.

EDIT: Zotac GT 730 1 GB DDR5 will be required in both config or only with the AMD config? Aren't the mobos with onboard graphics?

^ The GPU has HDMI port, that's why I said don't skip the GPU.

Intel based one lacks HDMI, AMD based one lacks iGPU.

an i3 4150 is plenty for your work. a gpu s not needed.
for mobo, get gigabyte h81m-s2ph which has hdmi.

Thanks guys,

So based on the above i have decided to go with the Intel config without GPU as suggested by the members.

However i am still not clear on the Mobo part. Should i go with gigabyte h81m-s2ph or Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H, and what are the difference/advantage of the two?

has 2 memory slots only compared to 4 of the other.
no DVI port(does not matter since it has hdmi)
it has 2 sata 3 ports compared to 4 of the other. both have 2 sata 2 ports.
