Hi all u at thinkdigit

i am buying a new PC and have decided a configuration.

Intel® Core™ i3-550 Processor (4M Cache, 3.20 GHz)
Asus P7H55-M LX
ADATA Supreme Series DDR3 1066 240pin Unbuffered-DIMM Non-ECC Memory 2GB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 SATA 3.0Gb/s 500-GB Hard Drive (ST3500630AS)

plus i have my Sony DVD Writer. i might as well upgrade my RAM by adding another 2GB piece. Might use my old sata HDD as well.

What i am confused is; wat would be the power requirement for my PC. And wat PSU should i look for. i have a budget of 1500/- for PSU alone (no case).

Thanking in advance
Ajith

your processor is already outdated. tell your budget and we will give you suggestions.

FSP saga II 350W or 400W is what I would suggest.

it is better to go for amd athlon II x4 640 or if you want intel then i3-2100.

Thanks Utkarsh. Here as you suggested i am planning to go for this configuration now.

INTEL CORE i3 2100 PROCESSOR
INTEL DH61WWB MOTHERBOARD
2GB DDR3 ADATA 1333MHz
500GB SATA HARD DISK DRIVE - SEAGATE

But as regarding FSP Saga II 350. Do u know who is the dealer for FSp in india? (main dealers) as i am in kerala now.

If you don't find FSP psu you can consider Corsair CX 400 which is a very good PSU and Corsair brand is so reliable.

OP,
i3-2100 is what u can get. But AthlonII X4 would have been a beter choice.
And for PSU SAGAII 350W is a decent choice. And if you are planning to get a GPU then go for SAGAII 500W.
Aditya Infotech are FSP and Corsair dealers here in India. So, google a bit, go to their website, search for their branch/office in your city and contact them.

Yes, CX-400 will be good choice too if you are unable to find FSP. But better stay away from CX-430 and dont get its name confused with CX-400.
