Right off the assembly line
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: playing mmos (specifically, path of exile).
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: as cheap as possible. not going beyond 20k for core components (cpu+mobo+gpu)
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: no
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: windows
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: none, already have 2 hdds
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: no, already have one
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I'd prefer to replace only the CPU + GPU + mobo.
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: soon
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: will assemble myself
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: NCR
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: budget/old models/2nd hand stuff is ok
Here's my current config :
AMD X4 955 BE stock
MSI HD6770 1 GB DDR5 stock
Gigabyte mobo (I dont recall exact model but i think it is GM880 or something its blue and AM3+ as far as i can tell)
4 GB Corsair @888 (i THINK) stock (I will add 4 GB ram)
Corsair VX450 psu (would prefer to keep using it, its old but its underrated)
(I also have a Tagan stonerock 650W but im not confident it works perfectly... its 2nd hand)
the rig is several years old, about 7 i think, and its time to upgrade.
I AM COMPLETELY FINE WITH BUYING 2ND HAND OR "OLD"/DATED HARDWARE
