help regarding bios password (acer aspire)

hello everyone i want help regarding the BIOS pass word

i tried to change my bios password and kept the spaces for the new password blank

now when i put the old password or leave the password blank

it doesnot work
and finally pc halts
i need to get it fixed all help appericiated

you tried to keep a new password by using space? Or you kept it blank? Please be more clear and descriptive.

if you tried to keep blank by using space then your password is space.

Have you tried removing the battery and holding the power button for say 10 sec.

We are discussing on a laptop, aren't we?

You mean to say that you put space characters as passwords. OK? do you remember the number of characters, then?

i kept the password blank
i mean when it asked for the new password i simply pressed enter and to comfirm new password i pressed enter again


can anyone tell me how to get my LAPTOP back

^ final solution, open the laptop hood, remove the CMOS battery fro 2 sec, you are good to go

^ i am talking about the CMOS battery located inside the laptop.
You will have to dissect the laptop to access the battery. have you done that??
