Right off the assembly line
i bought and set up a new pc and now it refuses to boot. here is the config:

core 2 quad e6600
asus maximus formula (x38 chipset)
4 gb ddr2 800 mhz ram
ati 3870x2
700w tagan psu

after assembling the pc, it ran fine for a few hours and then all of a sudden it automatically shut itself off. after restarting, it gave cmos error as the msg on the lcd poster (a small diplay that displays dignostic msgs from the motherboard). there is no display on the monitor and i have tried every possible solution that came to my mind. pls help.

ram is loose probably..

+1

Probably this problem occurs whenever RAM module goes to party.:D

Sometime it may work fine & suddenly it may reboot, as well as OS may crash. Sometime power led remains but system won't boot.

I faced this while assembling mine dual core.
