Swimming, eh??
Hello ppl. This is Mr. Toadfrog.
Its my first post up here. So i hope u guys would help.
Here goes my problem.
I'v already started working on my homemade built. This is my config till now...
CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition @8.1k
MoBo - Asus M4A78TD-V Evo @6.4k
Storage - 1 x Samsung 500 GB hard disk @2.4

Now all I am left to buy is..gpu,psu,case,cpu cooler & a monitor. Heres what i'v shortlisted & i need ur guys' opinion.

g-Card - preferbly ATI RADEON HD 4850/5770 (1 GB) @6.5k/10.5k

RAM - 2 x Kingston basic 2Gb 1066 migz DDR3 RAM @2.5k each.

PSU - Basic i-ball 450 watt power supply unit. @rs.900

case-anything that'd 'comfortably' fit my mobo. @1k

Monitor - any 17'-19'-21' LCD. @8-9k

now the complications.
1st- Is 5770 worth the extra $$$$? Or will 4850 do just fine. Cause i'l b goin for crossfire config in 6 months..
2nd- regarding ram, should i go for G-Skill DDR3 1333 mhz (2x2) & then wait for gpu.
3rd- I kno i'l b buyin cheap psu, but if i want to extend my budget, i'l have to wait for my graphics card and ram altogther. Cause every dealer in my small town is a fool & they all have filled my dad sayin that a cheap psu will run just fine.
4th- I have no idea what case i am using. It does fit the mobo but that too very compactly. So there's no space left on the chassis. Would a new case solve my problem? The shopkeeper said that i-ball(s) case+psu will be a great deal.
5th- i am using a 15' crt right now. I want an 17' or 19' or 21' with somethin called as 'High definition' in it.
I live in (stupid) Wardha, Maharashtra.
& my in-tech-lligence should scale 5 out of 10, but u guys can assume it to be 1.
Also, can i get the names of the websites that sell computer products online?
Also, reply asap as i'l b giving orders for product tmrw.
Also, what do u ppl think of my cpu-mobo-gpu built considering gaming as my main objective.

Hi, welcome to TDF. ok nice build. now about the queries.

1. yes HD5770 is a very good card & pricing is good. but your problem is, Asus M4A785TD-V EVO allows you crossfire but the 2nd card will run at 1/4th the bandwidth. so games will run very very slow. no use. if you can, better go with a HD5850.

2. you can. i'll suggest get 4Gb ram @ 1333 from Corsair or G.Skill. get value ram if you don't intend to OverClock.

3. a 400W PSU will result in an immediate explosion of the PSU itself & may severely damage your entire CPU. get Corsair VX450W if going for HD5770. or FSP Saga II 500W. do remember, damage caused by spikes (PSU explosion causes it) isn't covered by warranty.

4. don't listen to those a** freaks. they know nothing. once something goes wrong they'll surely know a lot that the damage not covered by warranty. so keep ears shut when with shopkeepers.

5. get 20" or 22" monitor. get Benq G2220HD. it costs between 7.5-8k & is a great buy for a FULL HD monitor.

as you from Maharastra, get the parts from PrimeABGB or the ITDepot.

for gaming, the build is a good one. just don't go for a bad PSU. also for PSU don't consider CoolerMaster Extreme Power. it isn't a good PSU (indicative from the price)

Cabinet ---> NZXT Gamma. a ood cabinet. a big one & isn't expensive. 2k is all it demands.
HSF ---> not needed for now. if processor temperature shoots high during gaming, get Scythe Katana3. a cheap solution if your objective isn't OCing.
Monitor ---> Benq G2220HD

Respected sir,
your reply was something i was'nt expecting..the perfect one. Thank you very much.
You cleared all my doubts but one.
I know my motherboard will run the second g-card at 4x speed.
Is that really very,very slow?
I mean is that so slow that i shouldnt have bought the M4A78TD-V Evo in first place?
Also, i dont think 5850 will come under my budget.
But what i hear from many reputed networks that 2 gpu's will run better than one at same cost made me buy M4A78TD-V Evo.
Also, can one crossfire 2 ati g-cards of differnt series i.e 4850+5770. Cause i think i read something like that on ati official website, (when they were up undermining nvidia's sli).
& i do think i'l overclock my cpu but may be after a year or two.
Thank you once again for reply.

Ya...x16-x4 is a waste of a crossfire.Better go for a more powerful card.

Sorry you cant do that. You can crossfire only same cards or cards from similar series. If 5850 is out of your reach, go for 5770.

by same series do u mean i can put together one 4850 and one 4890?
Also thank you for your reply.
