^probably the driver cd that came with the mobo does not work well with sp3...download the latest drivers from asus's site here *support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

Just select your product and your good to go

do you get this error: does not support this operating system: WNT_5.1P

did you try to install by clicking on asus setup?

browse the audio drivers folder in your cd- there must be two folders-32 bit & vista. open the folder 32 bit & click on asus setup. it will install the drivers.

if these don't work try these- Open Regedit and go to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows
find CSDVersion key
100 (hex) means its sp1
200 (hex) means its sp2
300 (hex) means its sp3

Change it from 300 to 200 and restart
Install kb888111.exe (Microsoft UAA Patch)
Install drivers
change the value back to 300 in the previous step

you can download kb888111.exe (Microsoft UAA Patch) from microsofts website.

i have an asus p5kc m/b & i have sp3 installed. my audio drivers install fine.

you're welcome..BTW, what error do you get with that high definition driver bus?please post the error message.anyway, are you getting audio output now? can windows media player play audio files? if everytime you switch on the pc & it starts searching for drivers for new hardware you can do this-1.choose option-no, not this time 2.search for drivers in these locations-browse to folder where audio driver is placed..or you can use the search removable media option if you are installing from cd.3.let the search complete, it will find the drivers, install them.
BTW, if you are getting audio output & you still get this driver searching problem & you are not able to install drivers, then at the end of the above three steps you can check--do not prompt me to install this hardware again..this way windows won't search for drivers every time it boots.but if you are not getting audio output, then do post again with the error message.
