My Friends Pc is an Intel P4 3 GHz, Intel 865GBF Mobo, 512 MB RAM.
The mobo has an 8X AGP Slot. What is the best AGP card within Rs 5000 that I can get for him ?

I recently got a socket 478 mobo and a gfx card.

Mobo: GIGABYTE 82845GE RZ.(with 8X AGP support)
GFX CARD: Nvidia GeForce FX5200 (Zebronics), 256MB(It says its Vista ready)

Cost of the card was around Rs 2900.

U can get a card with pixel-shader which starts around Rs4500.

You can go for 7300 gt or the 6600 non gt version .Don't buy 5200 it is only vista ready it would only be able to run vista and not any games on it.

Are you sure it is the 256 mb agp version and not the pci-express turbo cache version .

For info I didn't get any any new mobo with socket 478 cpu support.

This one I got from a shop 2nd hand.. Searched a lot.. but could find a new one.
So bought this second one @Rs 1.5K with 8 months warranty.. Not bad at least for me..

If you are thinking to get a new socket 478 MObo forget about it.. The mrkt is flooded with LGA 775 which supports CD 2..

My friend got a 6200 LE for 3.5k- The dealer surely cheated him. Now, which is better, the 6200 LE AGP 8X or the normal 6200 AGP 8X ?

6200LE is a toned down version....

Get the normal 6200..
