Hi guyz,

I am having the following config rite now :

E6400
7900GT
P5B DELUXE
2 GB ram
160*2 hdd
1 DVD Rom
1 DVD Writer

Now I am selling my proccy + mobo + gfx card.

I changed the following :

Mobo - Asus X38
Gfx - 3870X2

Now help me decide a proccy. I shud opt for Q6600 or E8400? I dont want to change the proccy in next 2 yrs. What shud I get?
The main purpose is gaming, occassional video encoding and movies, thts all.

I wanted to hv 45 nm quad cores but they are out of my budget(Abt 18K +).

Also suggest a decent ups that can back up my system for at least 20-30 mins.

I am going to add this additional components :

1) 2 GB ram.
2) 500 GB hdd
3) Another card may be in next 6 months.

Please reply soon as I am gonna visit Chandni market tomorrow for the purchases. Your suggestions will be really helpful.

Thanks.

i'll suggest E8400.its blazzing fast when oc'd to 4GHz and above.hav used a Q6600 @3.6-3.8Ghz b4 this E8400 and i feel that in most apps performance of E8400 is better than Q6600.
no games and most apps cant used the raw pwr of Q6600,and by the time apps and games really start using all the 4 cores of a quad theres be better proccies in the market with more no of cores.so better get a E8400.

So if I buy E8400 right now, then it will be sufficient for next 2-3 yrs?
I strictly dont wanna change the proccy for that time period.

Next version of Quads already in market. But way too costly even at www.newegg.com.
I have been quoted 18K for Q9450. Thats out of my budget.

Guyz plz reply to my query soon. i am going to the market tomorrow.

Very Important : A decent UPS that can give bkup for minimum 20 mins.
