Help Installing Ubuntu in Acer Laptop

I tried installing Ubuntu in Acer Laptop.But it failed.The error shown was most probably that my display was not recognized by the setup.
The X Server was unable to start.
Has anyone else tried installing Ubuntu on Acer Laptop.

does ur installation finished and are u able to boot from harddrive?.also what is ur Graphics card used in laptop.if its nvidia u can use "nv" driver.for ati,support is there but not that good.
OR
do u have onboard intel graphics.post ur specs here.

Hello vinod ...refer to my post...for solution ...

in shortcut add an entry under Device section in xorg.conf file which is

Option "Monitor Layout" "LVDS", CRT"
