Hello

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run?
Ans:
Everyday use PC - Browsing net, frequent Google earth, Full HD movies, video chatting, MS office work, casual gaming.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans.
not exceeding 50k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Not sure, Might do it later.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: dont care for what comes preinstalled. i have Win8.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: not less than 500GB. I have external 2TB drive so HDD is not a big priority.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Would prefer 23/24" screen, can also settle for 20/22" if need be. Touchscreen if possible in budget.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Have wireless keyboard & mouse, speakers

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Around 1-2 weeks

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: NA.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Delhi, Nehru Place / Online stores.

I was thinking of getting touchcreen model as using google earth on touchscreen will be very cool and fun. Occasionally touch enabled casual gaming will be fun.

Regards,
Tushar

@OP : trust me.. you are better off with assembled PC's, AOI's are not powerful enough, I spent enough time researching them for my dad. check out Lenovo, HP, DELL and others none were up to the mark, either less RAM/HDD or weak processor. its up to you.

yaa m also getting similar feeling. only considerable model with i5 & dedicated GPU that i cud find is around 72k and that too without touchscreen..

i guess then the buy will be a performance ultrabook.

any suggestions for that.

Create a new thread in the Laptops and Netbooks section. You will get better response there.
But the purpose of an all in one PC and ultrabook is completely different. What's the problem for going with a Desktop PC which can serve all your purpose?

my Dad already have a desktop, but he rarely uses it compared to laptop coz that gets tied to a table and no flexibility to use in other rooms while browsing over wifi. now the laptop is very old (7yrs old pavilion centrino solo model) . It lacks in power when playing HD movies, HD videos on youtube (which i do a lot whenever on vacation at home) and on almost all applications in win7. thats why i was considering to buy a new laptop / AIO to use instead of the pavilion lappy as an everyday PC at home.
With the AIO i was thinking that the bulk of it will not come in way when compared to the big screen experience and touch experience that i offers (i think it can easily be moved to other room compared to a full desktop )
By the way before considering AIO PC i and dad were looking to get a performance ultrabook.
