Right off the assembly line
Hello ,

I am trying to assemble a PC for my son and new to this stuff. I need help.

I would start with the AMD4800+ and Gigabytye GA_MA78GM-S2H and add a 250Gb harddisk and 1 or 2 Gb of memory and DVD Writer.

I already have an old Pentium II ATX cabinet, Intel Motherboard with 200Watts power supply and a 6 Gb harddisk using windows 98.

1. Can the new motherboard be installed in the old cabinet.
If not ,what is a good Cabinet and SMPS for this PC.

2.Does this require a separate CPU cooler FAN other than the one which comes with AMD. Also does it require a system fan.

3.can the windows 98 harddisk be used with this PC.

Thanks for any help.

Think Zen.
You could use the old cabinet, but u'll definitely need a new a new smps, 400 watts should do i guess.

As far as you dont do any overclocking, the stock cooler should suffice.

The old harddisk might become a bottle neck i guess.
