[HELP] First time,for assembling a DESKTOP PC.

Hi I am planning to assemble my first DESKTOP PC.
I live in Mumbai,so I got access to loads of stuff,just need some help to buy the right ones.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run?
Ans:
Multi-tasking.Dual-OS if required (Ubuntu and Windows 7 Ultimate).Downloading movies,songs from the internet.Playing Movies (HD).Data transfers (lots of this).Coding HTML,JAVA,CSS,PHP.


2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:
20K.Fixed.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:
Yeah,if required,please suggest if I should.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Windows 7 - 64-bit,want to be ready for WIN 8 as well.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:500GB+.Already hava internal SATA.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes.21+ inches.Good Quality for movie viewing.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:

Internal Hard-Drive 500GB
DVD/CD writer.
Keyboard,Mouse.



8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:
Around June 2012

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:
By me with some help from my uncle who has done this before.


10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:
Mumbai.Buying locally.Can buy online as well.


11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:
Basically I need a motherboard (USB 3.0 ports a MUST) and a good processor to go with it.Please suggest the exact model/part number.
Ram,PSU,Coolers also would be great.
Please suggest the latest processors which work great,if cost is more and if its worth it for my use,please mention that as well.
If there's anything extra I should add,please mention that as well.

You need to increase your budget a bit. I have left the UPS and Speakers for now. Included a graphics card because it will be helpful in playing HD movies(don't expect gaming from it because it is a very low end card) .

wrt keyboard and mouse, make sure that you have the USB ones already otherwise you will have to buy a new set, since most new mobos don't have a PS/2 port or have just one. Similarly ensure the port compatibility for the monitor, otherwise you'll end up either buying a new cable or a new port adapter.

The general config will be H67 based mobo or similar & a suitable processor, don't put into a GPU yet unless you have the money, and increase the RAM to 8GB or more. That will serve well into the future as coding will become more IDE based projects as you move on.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?

Around June 2012

Its still 3 months to go. By that time things may or may not change. It is advisable to ask for a config at that time. As by that time products and there prices may change. One can have better and accurate idea at that time only.

After 3 months Kepler will be here. Maybe HD 6xxx & 7xxx Prices will be down. God knows about RAM and HDD prices then. etc
