anyways but during installation it say no drive to install .my laptop hdd is sata 160 gb .and my windows xp cd is sp2 one .it between it says press F3 to quit .do i need sata drivers? just during writing this post i thought sata drivers r need but where to get sata drivers for my laptop .i do not know the hdd model and how to instal it first so that windows installation can recognize it.

No drivers can be installed before windows and XP does have SATA drivers, i've been noticing it from the time i didn't even know what SATA meant. check the BIOS setup.

It doesnt need sata drivers, or maybe it does for some specific manufacturers only. I installed an XP SP2 cd which I've been having since SP2 came out, and it has no extra drivers, and I installed them on my Seagate SATA.
