HDD to external drive

limpness

Broken In
Hi,

I have a 2 year old 160GB SATA Seagate 7200.10 HDD.I got a 500GB when i upgraded my PC to go along with it but now i'm thinking of using it as a external drive.

What would i need to do this? If i need a casing is there one which would not require external power?

Thanks

you cant use internal drive as external because internal drives require power source. for ext drive power as well as data is transferred along same cable.

Well External Casing for 3.5" are available , i had a Frontech Casing [ Rs 600 ] used it with 120 GB HDD , but it gave too many problems :( Loose USB1.1Wire , HDD not detecting etc.

But good casing from companies like NXT might be avilable , they should give better performance guess.
