Hi Friends,

Recently my PC restarted automatically when copying or moving files to from one drive to another.. Windows also displayed an error "your PC recovered from a serious error" In windows error reporting, it said there is problem in the Hard disk and windows was unable to access the disk..

I installed "Hard disk sentinel" and checked the disk. It reported that the disk health is only 9% and the estimated life is 13 days!! (I have the screenshot here)

Pl let me know whether problem can be fixed or should i buy a new HDD..

Awaiting your expert advice.

Your hard drive has plenty of bad sectors.Means the drive is physically damaged and the best option you have is to buy a new one. Also you can do a complete format which will mask the bad sectors. But i don't know how far this will help.

Before you buy a new one, backup the data in the 250GB HDD and perform a complete format (not a quick format) and see if you get any BSODs after that. You may have to reinstall your OS since it seems to be on the damaged one.
