Hello! i am looking for a graphics update for some light 1280*1024 gaming this is my current setup (got ripped off few years back)-

Asus m2a-vm mobo
Athlon 64 x2 4600+ dual core
2 GB transcend ram
Nvidia 8400gs 512mb
VIP 280w (20A on 12V)
Budget 5000rs
I was thinking about getting HD 5670 or HD 6670 ddr3

1) Will this PSU suffice for either card? I think it could be ok as the CPU draws only 65w (can any one confirm)
2)Will this card get severely bottlenecked from my old CPU (from 2007) i think it is still strong though.
3)Is the size of this card equal to 8400gs?
4)Is this card overkill for Dx9 gaming on 1280*1024? Should i get something cheaper?
5)Should i buy powercolor version (only one at flipcart)
I wouldnt prefer to change my PSU......

1) Yes, your PSU should be enough provided you don't overclock your card. I believe your PSU could deliver 200W @ 45C , if yes then no worries. HD 5670 consumes around 55-65W on full load.
2) nope, a dual core is sufficient to extract full performance. Though with new cpu such as core i3 2100 CPU, you'll get more fps.
3) Almost same. But it might be dual slot card.
4) No, your card will struggle to get decent fps in Ultra settings on Crysis 2, max payne 3, witcher 2 etc games. So, its not a overkill rather its a decent card for that res.
5) Get the cheapest one, if possible search for DDR5 memory model. It has got an edge on DDR3 version.

and DDr3 model consumes 10W less compared to GDDr5 model - so the one available on FK is good for you.

Hi guys thanks for helping, should i go for 5670 or 6670 (do both consume same power and fit in my mobo??)

6670-

Asus AMD HD 6670 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card | Graphics Card | Flipkart.com

or

Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6670 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card | Graphics Card | Flipkart.com

5670

PowerColor AMD/ATI Radeon HD5670 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card | Graphics Card | Flipkart.com

and my psu sticker says 20A on 12v(will check again, hope its legit)

both has almost same power consumption ( HD6670 may be 5-6W more ) and HD6670 offers slightly better performance.

I think i will go with HD 5670 i will inquire locally as flipcart seems overpriced.
Only problem now is that running that card on my psu seems risky.
