Hard disk is not detected

I purchased a new PC some days ago. The configuration is in my signature. I started installing everything in my cabinet today. The PC boots up into the BIOS and all I can see is the DVD Drive. There is no sign of the HDD in BIOS. I have the HDD connected to SATA 1 and DVD to SATA 2.. I tried exchanging the ports.. inserted HDD into SATA 3.. still not detected.. BTW my motherboard has 6 sata ports.. Someone help me out

try a different HDD
and recheck power cord of HDD

Don't have any other HDD. Tried all the SATA power cords of my PSU.. same result.

Bad HDD. Try interchanging SATA cables. If problem still continues, send your HDD for RMA.

Interchanged the cables.. the HDD was bought from Flipkart.. so I guess they will RMA it.. as its not even 5 days old..

Then I think you should claim replacement warranty.

Yeah.. will take 24 hrs.. WD has high failure rate though.. ordered 3 drives in the last 2 years.. 2 failed on the same day.. bought this one.. didn't even get detected in BIOS.. bleh..
