Lesser SMX ( two disabled), slightly lesser TMU's and vram halved. This is enough to take down the cost by $350.
The titan is also all set for a price drop, maybe to $850 or so. Its a rumor though.
And it also costs Rs. 18000-20000 more than the HD 7970 Ghz edition
Hardly a fair comparison, don't you think?
I also don't like HardOCP's comparisons.
Why? Because the games don't use identical settings between configurations.
Techpowerup's sample OCed by 22%. And they saw a performance gain of ~18-19% on average.
