4870 X2 will be much better than 4870 Crossfire. X2 is better in power consumption, performance, temps, crossfire optimisations and also ATI boasts that theyre completely free from microstuttering this time which is the main drawback of all multi GPU setup till date

I WANT MORE FPS!!
Are u sure, its most likely a driver problem. With further updates it'd look smthing like:
gtx280 sli>4870x2>9800gtx sli>9800 gx2

dude check in all the review sites you can think off.
I forgot to mention the resolution. My statement applies upto 1680*1080. Playing at higher than that resolution is not possible without dropping the settings to medium or gtx280 sli.

4870 CF is insignificantly faster than 4870x2 in crysis. So 4870x2 doesn't beat 4870cf as of now.
4870x2 does better in other games but thats pointless as all other games are playable at highest settings with cheaper graphics cards. Doesn't matter if you have 100 fps or 200 fps in some other game as 50 fps is enough for smooth gaming. Still waiting for sub 35k gfx setup that can run crysis at 1680*1050 at highest settings with 35 fps min and avg at 50+.

Well,certainly not in this:

Neway,ATI has traditionally been a bit slow on the driver updates with cards reaching their optimum performance a couple of months(or even later) after it's released and CF is definitely a bit more diff....

If u read the review, though it seems nvidia also has problems in SLI,so after a month or so..maybe u can judge better.

read my post and read the anandtech crysis results which confirm my post.

2560 res high quality on 30"+ LCD.... Again I cleared mentioned "upto 1680*1050" sane resolutions. 2560 res gamers are too rare and too rich. They can go tri and quad sli and dont have to stick to crossfire.

See the history of driver release for previous gen cards of AMD. All they kept doing was to improve fps in games in which their fps was already good and did little about the games in which they sucked. So going by history, AMD will do little reduce their weakpoints and only spend their resources on strengthening their strong points. Of course AMD is changing history by not being sucky in performance. Hopefully it continues this trend of nonsuckiness with drivers too.

My mistake i read hastily as i was in a hurry.AFAIK,some games like COD 4, u can play even with 8800 gt sli.Anyway,u said that even 9800 gtx sli is faster than 4870 CF,which if u read the whole review would have understood that it's not true.I'd say, 1080p would be a sane resolution for gamers right now, what with good quality 24" LCD's now becoming available at relatively low-price.At that resolution,u can see that 4870 CF scales really well even in crysis.(SIP-S)

When the drivers first came, the 3870 in CF had the similar performance as a single 3870.U've apparently not followed the history of driver releases closely.Same'd be the case with 4870x2..(though it can beat gtx 260 sli in crysis remains to be seen)
