Graphics cards under 4k!!!

Hi...i'm new here...I wanted suggestion for buying a new graphics card....
my configuration is :
Processor: AMD Athlon IIx4 635
Mobo: Asus M4N68T
RAM: 2GB DDR3 1333MHz
500 Gb HDD
450 watt PSU
15 inch CRT monitor running at 1024*768 resolution....
I want to play latest games at high settings...My friends 9400GT ran all games at high settings except GTA IV which ran at medium settings....My budget is 4k...should i buy 9400gt or 9500gt or any other card in this price range...please suggest.....

Well, for getting the best value for money graphics card with decent performance, you need to add 500 bucks to your budget and get a Sapphire HD 5670 512 MB GDDR5

As Cilus said, HD5670 is the only option left for you, which is damn VFM card and for a mere 500 rupees bump in your budget you'll get a worthy card.

^^...+1 for 5670 as it doesn't need seperate power supply so is low on power consumption as well.

Extend Rs.500 more and get the Sapphire HD 5670. If you can't extend 500 more than go for XFX GT240.

But my choice would be to extend Rs.500 and get the HD5670.
