Request to suggest me a best value for money Graphic Card & PSU.

Desktop config : AMD Phenom II X2-550 | 2 GB DDR3 | GA-MA74GMT-S2 | APC 600VA

Max Budget: INR 5000 (For Graphic Card & PSU)

The on-board graphic card is not good enough and the requested one is just meant for watching DVD movies and very basic gaming.

Which PSU do you have now??
Gigabyte Superb 460W - 2.1k
Sapphire 5450 - around 3k
9500GT & 4650 should also come for around 3k or worst case scenario 9500GT might be for 3.5k.

comparison of 5450 and 4650 -4650 is twice as fast . you can get this card online for abt 3k here

HD4670 512Mb + FSP Saga II 350W. usually the combo cost around 5k, give or take 200-300 bucks.

^+1 for sam. another option equivalent to 4670 is 5570 DDR3 around 3.5k or 9600GT.

I'm planning to go with (HD4670 512Mb / HD4650 512Mb) + FSP Saga II 350W

Now i have just two queries:

1) As i have 2GB DDR3 RAM & i guess my mobo PCI Express slots might supports the same.....
So its better to go for a card which has DDR2 or DDR3 RAM ?
Will it make much difference if i select the card on type of memory ?

2) My LCD monitor has VGA adapter and the HD4670 / HD4650 has DVI connectors.
How much is the price to DVI to VGA converter ?
In case its high then which GPU with VGA connector shall i buy ?

1.)The type of RAM you have has got nothing to do with the selection of GPU.Look at Sam & keviv's config & mine too.We all have DDR3 RAM but VRAM is different.

2.)I think the card will come with the converter.If not you can buy it.
