I think they should... e.g. nvidia's card boost of PureVideo which offers things like high quality scaling, video decoding acceleration for most common formats, high quality de-interlacing, noise reduction, colour correction etc. (Ref. *www.nvidia.com/docs/CP/11036/PureVideo_Product_Comparison.pdf)
