Wherer does google earth store images in the hard disk so that I can copy them from my friend's PC to my PC.

Google Earth is a online Software, you wont be able to just copy from friend's pc an run on your own PC.

You need a Internet connection for Google Earth to work

there is however an Internet cache folder saved by GE which should work on other computers.
The images which you view on GE are saved in that cache so that you can view them again wthout internet.

you need to copy two files -
dbcache.dat.index and dbcache.dat
On my system there are in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\GoogleEarth
